What happens during hypnotherapy?

During hypnotherapy, you will feel relaxed and calm.

First I will ask you about your medical history and what you want to address in your hypnotherapy session. I will also evaluate your progress to assess how the therapy works. I will explain how hypnosis works and what you can expect during your session.

There are four stages of a hypnotherapy session. During the first stage, you start to relax and ignore distractions. I will guide you through this stage with techniques like continuous, controlled breathing, focusing on a visual image, or progressive muscle relaxation.

The next stage deepens your relaxation and focus, easing your openness to my suggestions. I will use imagery and carefully chosen suggestions that are problem-focused or exploratory to explore the experiences associated with the start of your issue. During the last stage, I will gently lead you out of hypnosis.
